Despite now being in it’s second generation, the Audi R8 still has a presence wherever it goes. The now defunct first gen V8 variant of the R8 means that all second generation Audi R8s only roll off the Neckarsulm, Germany production line with a 5.2L 10 cylinder monster equipped to a 7 speed S-Tronic dual clutch transmission.
From the factory line the alloy wheels fitted to the Audi R8 are a 20×8.5 (F) and a 20×11 (R) wrapped in 245/30R20 and 305/30R20 respectively. In our opinion the OEM factory wheels are plain and very casual to say the least, they don’t jump out at you at all despite the R8 being such a down-your-throat ‘I have a 10 cylinder back off’ type of car.
This is where Vorsteiner come in, the California based forged wheel specialist put together a match made in heaven pairing for the Audi R8.
We fitted this Transformer-like Vegas Yellow R8 with the notorious Vorsteiner V-FF 112 flow forged wheels, not only did it complement the black/yellow colour contrast but it complimented the already stylish R8 without looking blatantly too much. Wrapped in Michelins, these Audi R8 wheels not only play the part but it saves excess weight that isn’t completely necessary in any regard
