Designed for both on and off road use, the 20 inch VR601 flow forged wheel is one of the lightest in it’s class, made specifically to suit the Ford 4×4 line up, it appeals to many without compromising in any category.
Like all Venom Rex wheels, the VR-601 is a flow forged wheel, what this basically means is, the wheel is cast, just like any other wheel, once the cast is completed, the unfinished wheel is placed on a purpose-built machine where the wheel is heated to temperatures over 400 degrees and then spun. A disc then contacts the wheel and widens the barrel of the wheel, forming the final shape where the width of the wheel is then determined. This process of heat and pressure further strengthens the aluminium. This process allows wheel manufacturers to use less material and as a result creates a more lightweight wheel without compromising on quality.
Similar to the VR602 option and the luxury Vorstiner line up, these wheels come in the trademark Desert Bronze, Mystic Black and the Tungsten Graphite in a 20×9 inch spec with a +12 offset, ideal specifications for many Ford Utes.
A recent Ford F Series truck that had the 20 inch Desert Bronze option fitted down at our Smithfield workshop. The bronze option complimented the lighter blue colour of the F150 monster without looking over the top.
