Monday the 20th of June 2016 marked the Inaugural RollingStock Track Day! The RollingStock crew and a host of friends and clients made the trek down to Goulburn for a Monday full of adrenaline pumping action at Wakefield Park Raceway.
A private day where we had the entire track to ourselves, the day was an easy going and relaxed event where plenty of chit chat went on in between racing sessions. From novices to those who turned up on slicks with car trailers, we had it all!
Many headed down the day before to stay in town – and eliminate the early morning drive. Dinner with 25 car nuts was a great way to kick off proceedings, before a fresh 7:30am start at the track!
In attendance was something from every category! From a 3 peddled 360 Spider, to a full track spec & left hand drive Abarth race car with a sequential box! A pair of limited edition GT-F FPVs tag teamed the day, as did some BIG HP supercharged cars – namely an 850HP C63 coupe and a 700HP Camaro. Gransport, M4, Macan Turbo, S3, S4, Mustang, F6, 911, S15, GTR, Clio, EVO, ISF, C63, Rs, A45 AMGs and many more are all cars that were having a go on a slippery Wakefield!
Conditions were significantly better than expected. A weekend of torrential rain suggested we would need umbrellas. Thankfully not a drop of rain was seen on the day! The track slowly dried throughout the day – however turn one and the mid-section of the track held enough water to ensure that no one got too confident!!
To ensure that the day went as smoothly as possible, and also to guarantee some happy snaps once the fun is over – we had 2 instructors, 3 photographers, a videographer and also ENZOS Cucina along to cook up a storm and keep those stomachs full!
A brilliant day with some fantastic company. It seems that the RollingStock Track Day will surely continue on as a part of the RollingStock calendar! Keep an eye on our website and social media pages to see when the next RollingStock Track Day will be.
